The event takes place thanks to the patronage of the Terme di Sciacca and with the help of several sponsors. But what is the goal of the evening? Delivering on the Project in Burundi "You'll have a home" promoted by the NGO and TU aimed particularly at children and street children.
"I Na Nye Yiri" in Swahili, "You'll have a house," is the name of the project that the association intends to achieve TU NGO in Burundi. The name is a wish that his father was African child next to the nuptial union. The Project will be implemented in Caga, Burundi hill located in the province of Ruyigi. The Na Nye Yiri has the following objectives: to improve the living conditions of orphans and street children through the construction of a facility and the reintegration into families, providing them with nutritious food, education and school medical coverage, making the self whole project through the development of productive activities, crafts and agro-livestock to help finance the project.
In particular, the first production unit (UP) is the project that Mpungwe aims to develop the agro-pastoral sector through the development of marginal areas, located in the mountains of Mpungwe. The project will be implemented in all its phases by actively involving the people of Burundi in the belief that active involvement and direct participation of local actors representing the prerequisite for the success of any development project planning.
But what is the situation in Burundi? As you know, Burundi is a small country in sub-Saharan Africa whose population is around 8.5 million inhabitants. It has a turbulent past marked by frequent foreign domination and ethnic conflicts.
The civil war has meant that the Burundi was ranked among the ten poorest countries on the planet. Medical care, clinics and hospitals are a luxury, use only 20% of the population. 46.3% of the population has aged under 14 years. It is estimated that over 230,000 children are orphaned by war and AIDS. The illiteracy rate is 59% of the population with rates that vary widely when considering the large urban centers or areas inside the hill. The state infrastructure, the continued presence of political instability and increasing poverty make uncertain the future of younger generations who are often left to their own or, in most cases, has already un futuro segnato.
L’Associazione T.U. L’Associazione si occupa di cooperazione allo sviluppo ed in particolare: idealizza, propone e promuove progetti di sviluppo nei Paesi emergenti, in particolar modo in Burundi; opera principalmente in the field of protection and support of people in need, with particular reference to the Burundian children, promoting the agro-livestock Burundi through the implementation of projects in respect of ethical principles that endure over time, which are sustainable, balanced and stable.
So there are good prospects for a living, on 22 December, a beautiful evening: Reflections, solidarity and listening to music, not just classical, but also celebrities and movie soundtracks that made movie history, and some Christmas songs, its atmosphere of those days. Do not miss it.
